Hello lovely reader! I’m Harriet <– That’s me over there, and that’s the face of someone suffering from anxiety! 🙂
I help women rediscover their sparkle, find natural solutions to live a balanced, healthy life free from the symptoms of anxiety, depression and stress, and get healthy inside and out.
Just over a year ago, I left my “dream job” with no backup plan and no clue what to do next; all I knew was that I needed to make some serious changes in my life.
I was using my inhaler multiple times a day, convinced I was having asthma attacks, I couldn’t sleep, I had heart palpitations at all hours of the day, and I had a constant lump in my throat.
I remember the day the doctor diagnosed me with anxiety and depression, and the first time I spoke to a psychiatrist. It was horrible but at the same time I felt relieved – I wasn’t going mad, what I was feeling was completely legitimate.
Since then I’ve tried and tested all sorts of cures, remedies and therapies – everything from antidepressants to herbal tablets – in an attempt to take charge of my own health and well-being.
Although I personally found antidepressants to be helpful as a first step on the path to recovery, I decided that long-term it wasn’t the right decision for me. So I started to reevaluate my life and work out what I could do to improve my health inside and out.
Along the way I’ve learned to follow my passions, to live a more positive life, and not to get dragged down by that niggling, negative inner voice telling me, “I’m not good enough”. As a dancer and burlesque performer I always found my inner sparkle and pizzazz whenever I put on my stage make-up and performance personality. But now I’m trying to bring her out full time because she is the most fabulous, confident and glittery version of myself that I know I can be. And I want that for you, too.
I’ve made it my mission to learn as much as possible about mental and physical health, and to share my experiences to empower you to take control of your own life, just like me.
